Glen Chamberlin Playground

Get ready to rediscover new outdoor enjoyment and recreation.

After careful planning and renovation, the Glen Chamberlin Playground has reopened. Here’s what the renovated park has to offer:

  1. Enhanced Green Space: Lush revitalized greenery throughout the park, paths and lighting. As well as an enhanced outdoor amphitheater experience.
  2. Upgraded playground: An upgraded playground featuring modern equipment, interactive elements, and safe play areas for children of all ages and abilities to explore and enjoy. Additionally, there is a wheelchair-accessible ramp and boat glider.
  3. Improved ADA Access: A new 10’ wide ADA (less than 5% grade) entrance path has been designed from the parking lot to the back of the Amphitheater in addition to a new culvert that allows the ground in the area to be graded and sloped toward the theater creating more accessible lawn seating and minimizes environmental impacts to the wetland and streams. The back half of the arena has an additional concrete walk behind the current picnic table section allowing free flow movement of people to the concession area and connection to the paved ADA access path.
  4. Opening Soon: New restroom facilities with modernized features and aesthetics that will enhance the beauty of our park.

Through a grant application, the City of Twinsburg requested state Capital funds to update and renovate Glen Chamberlin Park with (1) ADA Approaches and Access to Perici Amphitheater ($225,000); (2) Demolition and Replacement of the Park’s Bathroom Facility ($250,000); and (3) Replacement of the Park’s Playground Equipment ($200,000). Twinsburg has been awarded $338,000, which is 50% of the total estimated project cost of $675,000. The State of Ohio's biennial Capital Budget for fiscal years 2023 and 2024 allocated funds for a select number of community projects within Senator Kristina Roegner’s 27th District. Senator Roegner adds, “These dollars will go to make certain improvements to Glen Chamberlin Park, one of Twinsburg’s most visited and cherished parks.”

Glen Chamberlin Park is one of Twinsburg’s oldest and most heavily used recreational areas in the City. The park is comprised of playground equipment, basketball court, tennis courts, three covered pavilions, and a 1,500 person amphitheater. Each year, the park host a majority of our large events, such as Twins Day, our “Rock the Park” concert series, and many private events that are booked by residents and the general public from surrounding communities.
