FAQs
What can we expect during construction?
Motorists can expect traffic barrels, delays, dust and regular construction noise. Local Traffic will be maintained throughout the length of the project for residents and service providers. Construction materials and equipment will also be maintained within the City right-of-way or easement areas.
Will access to my home be impacted during construction?
Access to all homes should be maintained during construction. However, different work activities may impact individual driveway access. This daily work in front of the home will include utility installations, pavement reconstruction and a longer-term impact with the driveway apron replacement. All driveways will be ramped and open at the end of the day except during apron replacement in which the contractor will notify you in advance.
Will we receive our United States Postal Service mail and deliveries from FedEx, UPS?
U.S. mail delivery will be maintained throughout the project. The post office may require mailbox relocations and you will be notified of these changes when this occurs. If your mail is not delivered, please contact the Twinsburg Post Office at (330) 425-8032. Normal package delivery services should not be disrupted.
What will be the normal construction hours for the work?
Work is permitted Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 am and dusk, and possibly on Saturdays, if the project falls behind schedule due to weather. No work will be permitted on Sundays, unless pre-authorized by the City.
Will landscaping be affected?
This work takes place within the right-of-way and upon completion lawn restoration will occur.
Will there be any utility service disruptions during construction?
Every effort will be made to minimize utility disruptions, but we cannot guarantee there will be no accidental breaks or emergency situations. Any unplanned utility disruptions will be repaired as soon as possible. You will be notified prior to any planned water shut offs to perform lowering of the watermain required for storm sewer gravity sewer installation crossing the watermain at multiple locations.
Will my trash collection be affected?
The City of Twinsburg coordinates with Waste Management to provide weekly service. You may be asked to make sure your cans are out early, or the pickup may occur later in the day than usual.
What about school buses?
The City of Twinsburg coordinates with the School Transportation Department. Usually this results in no significant changes to service, but the School may modify bus schedule and will inform those impacted accordingly.
