Project Purpose and Background The City of Twinsburg has officially partnered with Environmental Design Group to create a set of Downtown Streetscape Design Standards, a new framework that will help guide the look and feel of our main thoroughfares along State Routes 82 and 91. This is about more than just curbs and crosswalks, it’s about shaping public spaces that are safe, inviting, and unmistakably Twinsburg.
What is a “streetscape”? A streetscape is everything you see and experience along a roadway — sidewalks, lighting, benches, street trees, landscaping, signage, and more. These design elements come together to create a sense of place. A well-designed streetscape improves walkability, promotes local business, and enhances the everyday lives of residents and visitors alike.
Why now? This is our opportunity to create clear, consistent, and attractive design standards that reflect who we are. By investing in thoughtful public space design, we’re building a stronger sense of community.
With help from Environmental Design Group, we’ll be conducting feasibility studies, community engagement, and draft designs starting soon. If all goes according to schedule, the new design standards will be ready to guide future improvements within nine to 12 months.
This project is more than a plan, it’s a promise to create a Twinsburg that’s more connected and more beautiful.
